Biography
Alex holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Kinetics from the University of British Columbia, specializing in Clinical Exercise Physiology, and a Master’s in Physiotherapy from the University of Lincoln in England. His clinical and sports performance experience ranges from stroke rehabilitation to working with adolescent figure skaters and professional rugby athletes.
He approaches physiotherapy with a blend of compassion, collaboration, and a strong work ethic. As a former competitive rugby and American football player, Alex has sustained more injuries than he can count (name a joint—he’s likely hurt it). He understands the physical and emotional frustration of being unable to do what you love, and that lived experience fuels his commitment to not just getting clients back to function, but helping them thrive.
Alex combines his background in strength and conditioning with manual therapy and evidence-informed practice to create individualized, results-focused care. He believes that no single approach works for everyone—and is passionate about using the right tools at the right time to help people progress efficiently and sustainably. He’s driven by outcomes and committed to ensuring his effort is never the limiting factor in a client’s success.
Outside the clinic, Alex enjoys anything physical—cycling, alpine adventures, kayaking, climbing, and has just recently tried surfing. A former cook of eight years, he still loves making meals for his friends and family, playing piano, and regularly getting put in his place by bad weather when he sets out for a hike or a ride—or by his more athletic friends (and, of course, his girlfriend).
