Allison Smale

Kinesiologist

Biography

I moved to Vancouver Island a decade ago and more recently settled in Sooke with my family. I feel incredibly fortunate to call such a beautiful place home and love being able to enjoy a quieter lifestyle away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Being active has always been an important part of my life. Growing up, I enjoyed everything from dance and swimming to skiing and kayaking, which naturally led me to pursue a career in kinesiology. What began as an interest in movement has grown into a rewarding career helping others improve their health, function, and quality of life.

Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work with a wide range of clients through WorkSafeBC, ICBC, PCVRS, Veterans Affairs, and private practice. Through this work, I became particularly interested in chronic pain after seeing how many people were struggling with ongoing symptoms and often felt their pain was overlooked or not fully understood. I find it incredibly rewarding to help clients better understand their pain and provide them with practical tools and strategies to manage their symptoms and feel more confident moving forward.

My approach is very collaborative. When you come to see me, we work together to understand what matters most to you and create a plan around your individual goals, health, and future. Whether that means improving function, managing symptoms, or getting back to the activities you enjoy, I want you to feel supported and involved throughout the process. Seeing clients recognize their progress and regain confidence in what they can do is one of the most rewarding parts of my work.
