Biography

Erin graduated with distinction with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (Yorkville University) and received her Bachelor of Physical Education and Recreation Degree with a specialization in Health and Fitness Promotion (University of Alberta), and is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (BCACC).

Erin has been meditating since 2011 and is a certified meditation teacher with extensive teaching experience; she often incorporates mindfulness-based approaches to support her clients with emotional regulation and enhanced self-awareness.

Erin brings her warmth, openness, and authenticity as a clinical counsellor to Parkway Physiotherapy & Performance Centre; following a person-centered approach, she aims to listen nonjudgmentally to her clients with an open heart and curious mind. Offering a collaborative therapeutic partnership toward healing and growth, Erin helps you navigate the complexities of life’s challenges with empathy, compassion, and unwavering support. Seeking support takes courage, and Erin is dedicated to creating a therapeutic environment based on dignity, inclusivity, honesty, and respect. Fundamentally, Erin believes in every person’s inherent worthiness andinnate resilience and that, given the right circumstances, individuals will move toward growth.

Erin grew up competing in dance, team sports (volleyball, basketball, soccer), and, as an adult, endurance sports (triathlons). She has a deep appreciation of the mind-body connection and believes in a holistic approach to health and wellness. She understands the importance of cultivating a resilient mindset required for high-level athletics and will help you navigate your concerns, empowering you to move forward with courage and a deep belief in yourself for your training sessions, competitions, and start lines. Additionally, Erin can support teen and adult individuals with a variety of concerns, including trauma, anxiety, depression, overwhelm & burnout, grief & bereavement, relationships, shame, confidence, meaning and purpose.

Erin’s sessions are tailored to the client, and her approach to therapy is integrative and creative, infusing Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical-Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Art Therapy, Emotionally-Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Somatic-Experiencing to support her clients in achieving their desired outcomes. In her free time, Erin enjoys spending time with her partner, connecting with friends, reading, and listening to 80’s and 90’s R&B music. Erin continues to cycle, run, play tennis, and race her road bike.
